UF launches first GIM fellowship in Florida

The UF General Internal Medicine (UFGIM) Fellowship program is a new, one-year, non-ACGME accredited program within the Division of General Internal Medicine.  The main purpose of the program, the first of its kind in Florida, is to foster the professional development of academic internists. Through innovative mentorship, we want to inspire clinicians, teachers, and researchers with a passion for generalism. Our mission is to create a training environment that builds upon foundational internal medicine residency training and introduces immersive experiences in collaborative research, the teaching of trainees, leadership, and management.  Fellowship training in General Internal Medicine can provide the pivotal additional skill set needed for career advancement and sustainability in academic medicine.    Our program is suited to prospective faculty interested in careers in inpatient or ambulatory medicine or even future sub-specialization in internal medicine.
